What to Expect at Your Eye Exam

Arizona’s Vision provides comprehensive eye exams for children and adults at our Ahwatukee office in Phoenix. Your visit is a chance to discuss your vision, review your eye health, and understand the next steps for glasses, contact lenses, or ongoing care.

Our team has served Ahwatukee since 1994. Meet the optometrists at Arizona’s Vision. We want to understand how you use your eyes at school, at work, while driving, and during the activities you enjoy.

Discuss Your Vision and Health History

Tell your doctor about changes in your vision, current glasses or contacts, medications, past eye care, and any concerns you want to discuss.

Check Your Vision and Prescription

Your doctor evaluates how clearly you see and whether your prescription needs to change. The testing used depends on your age, symptoms, and visual needs.

Evaluate Your Eye Health

Your examination includes an eye health assessment. Additional testing or retinal imaging may be recommended based on your findings and history. Your doctor will explain whether dilation is needed.

Understand Your Results and Options

Before you leave, your doctor explains the findings and recommendations. If you need eyewear, our team can help you explore eyeglasses and lens options or contact lenses.

Request an eye exam in Ahwatukee or call (480) 706-3937. Our team will confirm availability and finalize your appointment.

Plan Your Visit to Our Ahwatukee Office

Insurance and Exam Fees

We accept VSP and EyeMed. Your exam copay and eyewear benefits depend on your plan. Our team can help check eligibility and explain applicable benefits before you make a decision.

Bring both your vision-plan and medical-insurance information. Ask our team which benefits may apply to your visit and whether separate charges are expected. Coverage depends on your plan and the services provided.

If you are paying without insurance, call for current exam fees and offers. Ask what is included and whether a contact-lens evaluation, retinal imaging, or other recommended testing has a separate charge.

Contact-Lens Exams and Children’s Visits

Tell us when requesting an appointment if you wear contact lenses, want to try them, or are scheduling for a child. Contact-lens wear involves additional evaluation and fitting. Our team can help arrange the appropriate type of visit. Learn more about contact-lens exams and fittings or children’s eye exams.

What to Bring

  • Your current glasses or contact lenses and any available lens packaging.
  • Your vision and medical insurance information.
  • A list of medications and relevant previous eye records.
  • Your questions and details about any recent vision changes.

Dilation and Retinal Imaging

Your doctor will advise whether dilation or additional imaging is needed. Optomap retinal imaging is available, but imaging does not automatically remove the need for dilation. If dilation is planned, bring sunglasses and discuss transportation with our team.
